- Practice dialling numbers on different types of phones i.e.
rotary phone, touch tone phone, cell phone
- Give scenarios and have students decide if they would call
911, 411 or 0
- Give students different emergency situations and have them
practice giving the appropriate information when they call 911
- Have a police officer or EMT visit to talk about why it is
important to give accurate information when calling 911
- Have students practice answering the phone in a polite
manner
- Take a survey of the purposes of phone calls at student
houses – compare results
