Healthy Choices

Students will demonstrate an understanding:
  • the Canada Food Guide and food groups
  • potion control as it relates to healthy diet
  • a balanced diet and how to plan meals and snacks to maintain a healthy lifestyle
  • healthy choices that can be made when eating out
  • the role that vitamins/minerals play in a healthy diet
  • how to read nutritional information on packages 
  • daily caloric intake as it relates to meal planning for a healthy lifestyle
  • suggested amounts of fat, salt, etc. as they relate to a healthy lifestyle
  • menu planning to prepare for healthy eating
