Students will demonstrate an understanding of : - how to safely use kitchen tools
- objects in the kitchen that are hot and cold and use them safely
- fire safety in the kitchen
- food allergies and sensitivities and how to make safe food choices
- bacteria/germs relating to food preparation safety (ie. keeping hot foods hot and cold foods cold and proper food storage)
- how to properly put away groceries
- proper hand washing and how it relates to health and safety when cooking and eating
- how to clean up after cooking to properly store food and clean kitchen tools an utensils
- expiry dates and how they are a guideline to keep people safe
