- Use children’s hammers to hammer golf tees into foam.
- Encourage the student to turn door knobs and open doors. If they have difficulty with this practice the turning motion using nesting toys, plastic nuts and bolts, unscrewing lids, etc.
- Give the student coins to place in a piggy bank.
- Play with pegs and pegboards.
- Turn wind up toys on.
- Practice putting paper clips on paper.
- Practice holding an object in the palm of your hand and moving it into a pincher grasp without using the other hand.
- Encourage students to use a tripod grasp when writing.
- Practice buttoning and unbuttoning.

- Teach students how to tie single and more complex knots.
