Prehandwriting

  • Attempt to scribble.
  • Hold pencil/crayon.
  • Use one hand consistently.
  • Draw somewhat recognizable picture that is meaningful to the student, but perhaps not the adult.
  • Draw, name and describe a recognizable picture.
  • Trace easier uppercase letters such as H  A  T.
  • Copy easier uppercase letters such as H  A  T.
  • Copy first name.
  • Print first name.
  • Colour within the lines.
  • Grasp pencil correctly.
  • Trace more difficult lowercase letters.
  • Copy more difficult lowercase letters.
